Stefan Rusconi (organ) and Tobias Preisig (violin) walked into the Neo Gothic Church of Saint-Étienne in Cully, Switzerland and felt dazzled and inspired by the atmosphere there. During five nights of recording in this church they felt a fresh, musical magic emerge, as if secret rooms were opening and time was being stretched. The sounds of their recording, Levitation, were arranged slowly, with a care that being in the church instigated. An intimate synergy of organ and violin arose full of detail, audibly vigorous yet organic.
